The studio
Architecture, interiors and project management from a Cook Islands Māori studio in Auckland
'iti Architects brings together three practitioners with a shared way of working. The studio designs buildings and interiors, and manages the delivery of projects, with a focus on spatial traditions, climate resilient design and Pacific values.
Architecture
Concept design through to consent documentation and construction for new buildings, alterations and housing.
Interiors
Interior design and fit-out for homes, community and commercial spaces, planned around how people gather and live.
Project Management
Programme, budget and contract administration from brief to handover, so a project is delivered the way it was designed.

What the studio stands for
-
Spatial Traditions
Ways of arranging space that come from Cook Islands Māori and Pacific life: the open house, the shared ground between houses, and the order of a village.
-
Climate Resilient
Buildings designed for a warming Pacific: shade, cross ventilation, water, durable materials and ground that is ready for storms and rising seas.
-
Pacific Values
Design led by family, community and respect for place. Decisions are made with the people who will live in and use the building.
